Why are my indicators not showing up on my chart?

This happens most often when the number of chart bars is less than the period on the indicator.

First, check the period on the indicator(s) you would like to use.

1.  Right click the chart where the indicator is found.

2.  Select "Indicators" from the drop-down box.

3.  Ensure that the appropriate indicator is selected and highlighted at the left of the "Indicator List" dialog box.

4.  Locate the "Period" quantity bar under "Settings" on the right side of the "Indicator List" dialogue box and check the number that is found in the quantity bar.

(Note that if you are on Alveo version 1.4.22 the number may be hard to see as it is black text on a grey background).

Be sure that this number is not higher than the number of bars with which you loaded the chart.

If you need to adjust the number of bars:

In Alveo 1.4.22

You will need to reload a new chart and increase the number there. To learn how to load a new chart see the article How do I add a new chart?". Bars can be increased in the "Bars" quantity bar in the "Chart Selection" dialog box when a new chart is being loaded.

In Alveo 1.5.1

Click on the bar count in chart toolbar along the top of the chart window. A small drop-down menu will appear where you can adjust the number of bars.

 

*To check your version of Alveo: click on the “Help” button on the top of your platform and select “About” from the bottom of the drop-down menu; you will see a box pop up that states what version you are on.

**Currently, Alveo 1.5.1 is an update that is available, but not mandatory. To update to Alveo 1.5.1 click the “Help” button at the top of your platform and select, “Check for Updates.” Eventually, each platform will be required to update to Alveo 1.5.1.
